Puma Speedcat in Pakistan: Price, Sizing and History

Few sneakers have gone from racetrack to wardrobe staple as quickly as the Puma Speedcat. If you have seen a slim, low shoe with a small embroidered cat on the toe in Karachi, Lahore or on your feed, that is probably it. This guide covers where it comes from, what it is made of, how it fits, what it costs in Pakistan and what to check before you buy. To see what’s available now, browse our Puma Speedcat collection.

What is the Puma Speedcat?

The Puma Speedcat is a low-profile lifestyle sneaker launched in 1999 and based on the fireproof driving shoes Puma made for Formula 1 drivers in the 1980s and 90s. It has a slim rubber sole, a rounded heel, a suede Formstrip and an embroidered cat on the toe. You can see more styles in our PUMA collection, and fresh pairs land often in new arrivals.

Where does the Speedcat come from?

Racing boots needed thin soles so drivers could feel the pedals, and Puma carried that idea into a shoe people could wear on the street. In the early 2000s, motorsport style went mainstream, and team colourways tied to Ferrari, BMW and Mercedes-AMG made the Speedcat popular.

When chunky runners and high-tops took over in the late 2000s and 2010s, the Speedcat faded. Puma brought it back in classic colours, with a 2024 re-release in partnership with NAKED Copenhagen. Since then it has added Leather, Mid, Plus, Ballet and Ferrari editions, plus collaborations with designers such as JUUN.J and Nahmias.

What is the Speedcat made of?

For the Speedcat OG, Puma’s product specifications list:

  • Upper: 97% cow leather and 3% textile
  • Midsole: lightweight synthetic IMEVA
  • Outsole: rubber
  • Fit label: regular fit, rounded toe, flat heel, lace-up

Other editions use suede, full leather, mesh or nylon, so check the exact version before you compare prices.

How much does the Puma Speedcat cost in Pakistan?

Official retail pairs in Pakistan cost roughly Rs 38,000 to Rs 61,000, while premium-grade pairs from local sellers sell at about Rs 12,000 to Rs 14,000.

Here is what we saw in October 2026:

  • Official retailers: a Speedcat OG listed at about Rs 38,000 at Speed Sports, and a brown Speedcat at Rs 61,010 at Next Pakistan.
  • Our Speedcat range: prices by style are below.

Style

Our price

Speedcat OG – Black White (also Red, Pink, Haute Coffee)

Rs 12,499

Speedcat Ballet – Venus Grey (Ballet and Ballet Lace)

Rs 12,999 to Rs 13,499

Speedcat Ferrari Monza – Steer Blue

Rs 13,000

A gap that wide means pairs at the lower level are not official retail stock. They are premium-grade versions sold at a fraction of the retail price. A trustworthy seller will tell you which one you are buying.

Prices move with these factors:

  • Exchange rate. The rupee’s value changes the price of imported stock.
  • Duty and shipping. Imported footwear carries customs duty, tax and freight.
  • Seller type. An authorised retailer, a reseller and a marketplace seller price differently.
  • Edition and colour. Collaborations and limited colours cost more.

Prices and stock change often, so check the collection page for current rates before ordering.

How does the Puma Speedcat fit?

Puma labels it a regular fit, but the shape is slim and snug. If you have wide feet, many buyers go half a size up. Others find the length runs long and go half a size down. If you sit between sizes, try a pair on first, wearing the socks you plan to use. You can do that at one of our stores in Karachi, Lahore or Islamabad.

The sole is thin and low, much like an adidas Samba, so the shoe sits close to the ground. If that is the look you like, compare it with our Samba collection.

Is the Speedcat comfortable in Pakistani weather and daily wear?

It is fine for casual city days, café trips and short walks. It was designed for pedal feel, not cushioning, so it is not a running shoe and is not ideal for long walks. If you need real cushioning for training, look at our running shoes instead.

In peak summer heat, wear thin socks, since the shoe is low and closed. During the monsoon, avoid puddles, especially with suede. Owners often mention creasing across the toe box over time, which is normal for leather.

How do you style the Puma Speedcat?

The slim shape suits trousers that don’t swallow the shoe:

  • Straight or slim jeans in dark or mid wash
  • A plain kurta with straight trousers or jeans for a relaxed desi look
  • Cropped chinos or tailored trousers for a smart-casual look
  • Track pants and shorts for a sportier outfit
  • Wide-leg jeans, which suit the Y2K look, with the hem just above the shoe

Black and white pairs go with almost everything, while red is a bolder racing-inspired choice. For more options, see our men’s sneakers and women’s sneakers.

What should you check before buying in Pakistan?

  • The box label. Genuine pairs carry a style code, such as 398846 for the OG.
  • Embroidery. The cat on the toe should be clean and even.
  • Labels and stitching. Look for neat tags, even stitching and clean glue lines.
  • The seller. Ask directly whether the pair is original or a premium-grade copy, and expect a clear answer.
  • The return policy. Read it before paying. Ours is on the shipment and return policy page, and orders ship across Pakistan with a 7-day return window.

How do you care for Speedcats?

Brush suede gently to remove dust, and let wet pairs dry naturally, away from direct heat. Wipe leather panels with a damp cloth. A protector spray before first wear helps against monsoon splashes.
